Date: August 2016 to May 2017
Vendor Location: Fabricator of Steel Structure in Chihuahua, Mexico.
Visual Inspection on welds per ITP WL-0795-ITP-03 Rev 2 Item Number 2.3 and Customer Spec JIC-TD-06545 Rev 1.
Items Inspected: Platform Hot Dip Galvanized Identified as W14.
Findings: Joints of Angle item N56 to Channel item T92, not welded at their entire length as specified on Drawing D34-4035 Rev 0. Typical issue detected on all handrails. Not in accordance with Customer Spec JIC-TD-06545 Rev 1 Section 6.6 which specifies for all welds to be continuous seal welded.
Re-Inspection: Repairs completed by Vendor in accordance with Project Requirements. See Photos as illustration on typical Issues.
Visual Inspection on Painting per ITP WL-0795-ITP-03 Rev 2 Item Number 4.3 and Paint Specification 0708-000-TLL-4513-001 Rev 1.
Items Inspected: Stairways and Ladders
Findings: Stairways and Ladders observed just with hot dip galvanizing done, due to an incorrect interpretation of the project requirements by Vendor, the specified painting application per Appendix "B" item 3.7 from referenced Coating Spec has not been done.
Re-Inspection: Per observation from Fraza Team, Vendor has completed on painting over galvanizing in accordance with specified Paint System per Coating Spec referenced above. See Photos on described Issue as originally found.
Benefits to Our Customer: By using Fraza Inspection Team, Customer saved a lot of of time and money preventing excessive expenses per back charges for Re-works at field site per unacceptable issues on welding and missing painting application, if Not Corrected/Repaired in timely manner at Vendor Shop.
